Childhood:

Lisa Bills was born on August 26, 1959 in New Kensington, Pennsylvania as the second child and first daughter born to Jay and Shirley Bills. Her brother Keith Bills (born April 5, 1958) was about 16 months older.  Her mother Shirley was born October 15, 1935 in Malad City, Idaho and studied hard with good grades and went to Utah State for one year then she went back to Malad to work for 15 months as a secretary/bookkeeper at Crowther’s Mill before she went back to Utah State and met an engineer Jay Bills. He graduated with two engineering degrees. The couple moved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where they lived for six years. They attended the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and were strong active members.

Instead of walking, Lisa “rolled” around until she was about 15 months old and her mom took her to a pediatrician instead of a general practitioner who said her heels turned in and she needed to wear a shoe with the “Thomas Heel”  - it worked.

The third child born to the Bills family was Craig Pope Bills April 5, 1962. The family soon moved to Chillicothe, Ohio where Jay worked at ALCOA - an up and coming company in the new aluminum trade. Jay was the branch president in the church. They lived there for four years. Kevin Lee Bills was born on September 25, 1964. Shirley remembers the half-acre with fruit trees and a big garden in a cul-de-sac. She said the area was beautiful not far from Kentucky – about 25 miles. She made curtains with a white background and pink shades for Lisa’s room and they really enjoyed a green painted big rocker.
